Tamil Nadu BJP poll manifesto panel discusses “key inputs and people-centric ideas” for 2026 Assembly election

The meeting held at the party’s state headquarters ‘Kamalayam’ was chaired by Tamil Nadu BJP State President Nainar Nagendran.
Nagendran said Union Minister of State L Murugan also attended the meeting and others were among those present at the consultative meeting “held for all state functionaries of Tamil Nadu BJP who are touring all assembly constituencies as part of preparations for our 2026 assembly elections”.
He posted photos of today’s meeting on his X handle.
Former Telangana Governor and senior BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan, who heads the poll committee, said on social media platforms that the meeting “kempt key inputs and people-centric ideas for the upcoming elections”.
Soundararajan said that BJP’s national election in-charge for Tamil Nadu Aravind Menon and the party’s State national co-incharge Pongalatti Sudhakar Reddy and other party functionaries were also present.
BJP leader Narayanan Thirupathy said, “Organizing general secretary BL Sanosh is here to guide us on how to proceed both organizationally and politically. Nainar Nagendran is chairing this meeting and all the cadres and election in-charge officials are prepared for it.” he said. Members of the poll manifesto committee include the party’s State vice presidents VP Duraisamy, KP Ramalingam, P Kanagasabapathy and State general secretaries Raama Sreenivasan and Karthiyayini. Other members include C Narasimhan, KS Radhakrishnan, ANS Prasad and R Arjuna Moorthy.
The 13-member committee was officially constituted by Nainar Nagenthran in January 2026 and aims to mirror the ‘Makkalukkaga Makkalidamirundhu’ (For the people, by the people) outreach campaign launched by the BJP to gather people’s views.
Meanwhile, Soundararajan said that he received a memorandum for Election Manifesto from Annadurai, State President of BJP Weavers Cell. He also posted a photo of the meeting on his social media platform X. Members of the survey committee had earlier visited the weavers and sought their views on developing the handloom sector.
In the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly, DMK won 133 seats in the 2021 Assembly polls. Congress won 18, PMK 5, VCK 4 and others 8.
