Man hides under bedsheet before attacking ex-colleague | News

A man wore a burqa before attacking a former colleague with an iron bar, apparently thinking he would go unnoticed.
In the early hours of December 1, 2024, Javier De Brito Jardim, 36, of Bolney Street, SW8, was seen on CCTV in Cannon Street wrapping himself in a white sheet and walking towards Poultry in the City of London.
There he waited at his victim’s workplace before attacking him with a metal bar and fracturing his skull. His victim managed to escape and notify the police.
Police prevented Jardim from boarding a flight at Heathrow Airport the next day and he was arrested there.
He pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon and was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison in February.
