Telangana Electricity Artisans Calls Off Strike

Hyderabad: Electrical Craftsmen JAC President Satish Reddy on Friday announced that the strike was called off after Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu directed him to hold talks with Transco Chairman and General Manager about their issues. On Friday morning, JAC leaders met the Deputy Prime Minister at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad.

Craftsmen JAC Convener Sailu expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Deputy Chief Minister for responding positively to his concerns and allowing meetings with senior officials.

Speaking at the event, Bhatti Vikramarka said, “Employees should work in a way that will gain the trust of the public” and emphasized that employees should fulfill their duties in a way that will gain the appreciation of the public.

He pointed out that it is not right to go on a sudden strike because there is a strike ban and electricity demand reaches peak levels in the summer months. He reiterated that issues can be resolved through dialogue and assured that the government is considering the concerns of artisans from a humanitarian perspective.

He also stated that the government is always open to negotiations with electricity unions and is determined to solve their problems. Bhatti Vikramarka also said that Transco CMD will hold discussions with the artisans JAC on issues that can be resolved without imposing financial burden and efforts will be made to address their concerns.
