Tess Daly and Vernon Kay SPLIT after 23 years of marriage
Tess Daly and Vernon Kay have split after 23 years of marriage, the Daily Mail has revealed.
The 57-year-old presenter and the Radio 2 DJ, 51, who got married in 2003, announced in their joint statement that they decided to part ways after more than 20 years.
Daly and Vernon have two daughters, 21-year-old Phoebe and 16-year-old Amber.
Making a heartbreaking statement today, the duo announced that they decided to separate after ‘much thought and the deep care and respect they feel for each other’.
Daly and Kay also confirmed that the decision to split was made “amicably”.
‘This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a mutual understanding and shared desire for what is best for both of us,’ they said.
‘We remain great friends and most importantly, we are fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority.
‘There is no other party that agrees with this decision. We ask for confidentiality as we navigate this transition together.

In a heartbreaking statement, the pair announced that they had decided to separate after ‘much thought and a deep sense of care and respect for each other’.
Their split will leave fans stunned as they are considered one of the strongest marriages in showbiz despite Vernon cheating on Tess in 2016 when he was caught ‘having sex’ with model Rhian Sugden.
The couple’s shock follows reports that the couple have ‘entered a new chapter in their marriage’ after Daly left his job as a presenter on Strictly Come Dancing after 21 years.
The 57-year-old and her now ex are said to be preparing to embark on an ‘adult gap year’ before the former Strictly presenter turns 60.
At the time, it was reported that Daly wanted to be ‘a little bit selfish’ because he felt he was ‘missing out’ on travel opportunities because he had been working since his teenage years.
A source told Closer magazine: ‘She’s dying to spend a year among adults and see the world with Vernon because she wants to do it while they still can.
‘Vernon can take a break and do everything they’ve ever wanted to do and enjoy what they’ve worked for.’
