Texans GM Nick Caserio says Nico Collins is not being traded amid rumors

The Houston Texans have trouble advancing beyond the wild-card round of the playoffs, which sometimes leads to some roster changes.
But if the Texans want to make a Super Bowl trip, they say it will be with a star receiver.
Nico Collins is entering his sixth NFL season with Houston and signed a three-year, $72.75 million extension following his third season. Collins, who will hit free agency after the 2027 season, reportedly told teammates he believed he was underpaid.

But to Collins’ obvious disappointment, he’s not going anywhere.
“We are not trading Nico Collins,” Texans general manager Nick Caserio told reporters Friday.
“Whoever reported this or whatever information they have can push it. We’re not trading Nico.”
Collins broke out in his junior season, recording 80 receptions for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns – his first two seasons he recorded 70 receptions, 927 yards and three touchdowns.

Collins has since made two Pro Bowls and recorded at least 1,000 yards in each of his final three seasons. He will be the 18th highest-paid player in the league despite ranking ninth in receiving yards and eighth in receiving yards since 2023.
But since Collins signed the deal, multiple receivers have reached nine-figure deals, including Ja’Marr Chase, CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Collins is joined by Jayden Higgins and Tank Dell, and point guard CJ Stroud remains on a rookie contract. Caserio even dismissed the idea that Stroud was open to a trade earlier this season.
