Dramatic video footage shows police tasering and restraining a suspect following multiple stabbings on a train yesterday. The service was between Doncaster and London Kings Cross. In the clip, a man wearing all black is seen collapsing on the platform at Huntingdon Station. I heard a police officer yell, “Put him on hold!” He can be heard shouting. Police confirmed this morning that two men, a 32-year-old black British citizen and a 35-year-old British Caribbean citizen, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

British Transport Police (BTP) Inspector John Loveless said: “The two men have been detained by police and are still there this morning.” A total of 11 people were treated in hospital, two of them remained in life-threatening condition, and four were discharged. Police announced that 10 people were taken to hospital by ambulance, and another person was admitted in person later that evening.

Nine people were initially believed to have life-threatening injuries after evaluation and treatment. Four have been discharged, but two remain in life-threatening condition. The incident is not thought to be linked to terrorism.

Viorel, the 42-year-old taxi driver who recorded the video, said the man shouted “Kill me, kill me, kill me” to the police before he was arrested. Sun reports.

Superintendent Loveless said counter-terrorism police initially supported the operation, but the incident was no longer being treated as terrorism-related.

He said: “British Transport Police declared a major incident yesterday and counter-terrorism police were initially supporting our investigation.

“However, at this stage there is no evidence that this is a terrorist incident.

“This is a British Transport Police investigation and we continue to work to quickly establish all the circumstances and motivations leading to this incident.

“At this early stage, it would be inappropriate to speculate about the cause of this incident.”

Armed officers from Cambridgeshire Police boarded the train and arrested two suspects within eight minutes of the 999 call being made.

Inspector Loveless added that passengers could expect to see a “highly visible presence of police officers at stations and on trains throughout today, up and down the transport network”.

He said: “Our officers are there to reassure the public and address any concerns they may have.”
