Topless Haaland’s Royal seal of approval! Norway’s World Cup hero Erling hugs his country’s future Queen in the dressing room after dumping out Brazil – and it’s England up next

Norwegian Princess Ingrid Alexandra, who took her country to the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup, embraced the radiant and topless Erling Haaland.

Haaland’s inspired performance in New Jersey defeated Brazil and continued Norway’s fairytale run into the last eight.

As the players celebrated in the locker room after the game, they were shocked by the royal visit from Crown Prince Haakon and Princess Alexandra, the eldest daughter of Crown Princess Mette-Mariet of Norway, to convey their congratulations.

The princess spoke to each player, as well as her brother Prince Sverre Magnus, and immediately hugged star man Haaland, even though he was only partially dressed.

Princess Ingrid would be heir to the throne and eventually Queen of Norway, and so her presence in New Jersey was important.

He made his tournament debut for the group stage win against Senegal, replacing his father at late notice.

Crown Prince Haakon canceled his visit after his wife went into surgery, meaning Princess Alexandra stood out and had a chance at both matches; Norway – and especially Haaland – are shining, appearing at the World Cup for the first time in 28 years.

The World Cup represents Haaland and Co.’s success as well as Princess Ingrid’s first official public appearance since Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s lung transplant, which made headlines in Norway.

As for football, Haaland has taken over the game, taking his tally of goals to seven and moving level with Argentinian Lionel Messi and Frenchman Kylian Mbappe in the race for the golden boot.

‘That’s how things usually work. “If I get one or two chances, it usually ends in a goal,” Haaland said after his clinical brace.

‘I don’t know how I do it but this is how I do it, so it’s all about focus.

‘I tell myself the chance will come and I usually know right away whether I’m going to score or not.

Can Haaland fire Norway into the final?

‘I think I’m starting to realize now that it’s a gift from God that poles and things like that fit so perfectly on top. This is so crazy.

‘We’ve continued to progress, but I hope all the young people watching this interview – hopefully when you’re a bit older, you’ll see playing for Norway as the proudest thing you’ll ever do in your whole life – it’s absolutely insane.’

The Norwegian players and the Royal family cheering them on are now looking forward to Saturday’s quarter-final against England in Miami.
