Triplicane High Road is one of the busiest streets in Chennai’s core city. The daily movement, which combines Triplicane’s historical neighborhood with Teynampet and Anna Salai, is vital for school children, residents, tradesmen and temples visitors. However, its limited width and aging infrastructure are struggling to keep up with the daily demand. In addition, uncertain garbage, stagnant water and no longer residues have increased concerns about groovers throughout hygiene and tension.
Most days, traffic moves slowly. The vehicles are parked on both sides of the road and usually reduce them on a single lane. Two -wheeled devices and automatic pits are knitted in every area left. Automobile driver Karthik T., “There is no open flow,” he said. “It cannot be foreseen especially during school hours or festival days.”
The road is covered especially with commercial organizations, small restaurants, religious shops and flower sellers near the Temple of Parthasarathy. However, the paths they exist are broken or occupied, leaving pedestrians to walk on the road as well as moving vehicles. This makes it risky for the elderly, school children and sellers.
Monsoon troubles
Water wetting during rains is another recurrent source of concern. Thiru Mohan, who sells corn near the temple entrance, said, “Even after a short rain spell, evacuation hours continue.” “We can’t move our cars from water, and the traffic gets worse.” Stagnant water usually mixes with unlitted garbage along the edges and creates non -hygienic conditions. Sambhavi Rajan, a resident who lives near the temple junction, said, “The smell continues for days and it becomes difficult to walk through it.”

The pressure on the road is increased with traffic from nearby strips such as Agraharam Street, TP Koil Street and Hanumanthayan Street. These small streets usually do not plan output planning, the vehicles directly pushes the high road and adds to the bottleneck.
For a street that plays such an important civilian and cultural role, Triplicane High Road sees very little regulation or planning. Residents and tradesmen agree that drainage, pedestrian infrastructure and improvements in parking application are necessary to recover the basic movement and security throughout this key.
