President Donald Trump on Thursday called for an investigation into Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), claiming in a social media post that the lawmaker’s fortune is “over $30 Million” and questioning how such wealth was amassed while serving in public office.

“Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s fortune is over $30 Million,” Trump wrote. “There is no way such wealth could legally be accumulated while a politician is being paid a salary.”

Trump said Omar “should be investigated for Financial and Political Crimes and this investigation should begin IMMEDIATELY.”
