Trump Floats A New Plan To Reopen Strait of Hormuz

Washington: Trump has laid out a new plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a senior official said.

Under the plan, the United States would maintain a blockade of Iranian ports while cooperating with its allies to impose higher costs on attempts to disrupt Iran’s free flow of energy, according to a senior administration official.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment publicly, said Trump is considering several diplomatic and political options to force Iran to end its pressure on the waterway.
