In Bihar, BIADA allots 12.5 acres of land to 25 industrial units

Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) has allotted 12.5 acres of land to 25 industrial units in the state, a decision that will accelerate the pace of industrial expansion.

The move will provide a significant boost to industrial activity, job creation and economic growth in the state.

The decision to allocate plots and plug-and-play sheds to eligible candidates was taken at the meeting of the BIADA Project Approval Committee (PCC), chaired by Kundan Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Industries and MD (BIADA), on Wednesday.

Official sources said this will further accelerate Bihar’s journey towards becoming a strong and diversified industrial centre.

These approved proposals are expected to attract a cumulative investment of ₹168.52 crore and are expected to create 1,194 direct employment opportunities as well as indirect employment opportunities in the state.

Prominent sectors that received allocation for setting up of units in industrial areas of the state included Information Technology Enabled Service (ITES), Food Processing, Textiles and Leather, Plastics and General Manufacturing.

These sectors are expected to significantly strengthen Bihar’s industrial ecosystem by attracting new investments, promoting sectoral growth and creating employment opportunities across the State.

The allotted plots include M/s Chemplast Products and Industries, M/s AD Biomass Energy Pvt Ltd, M/s Redcyber Solutions Pvt Ltd and M/s Rishav Multigrains Pvt Ltd.

“BIADA’s Project Clearance Committee has allotted plots and play-knock sheds to eligible applicants in industrial areas in Patna, Purnea, Siwan, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Bhojpur, Buxar, Madhubani, Nawada, Saharsa and West Champaran,” the BIADA official said.

Meanwhile, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary in Darbhanga announced that the state government will acquire 280 acres of land belonging to Ashok Paper Mill for setting up new industries.

Addressing a public meeting at the Nagendra Jha Stadium in Darbhanga, where he was accompanied by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as part of the ongoing Samriddhi Yatra, Mr. Choudhary made this announcement.

Ashok Paper Mill in Rameshwar Nagar is spread over 400 acres of land and was established in 1958 but remained closed since November 2003. Mr. Kumar also inaugurated 90 projects worth ₹138 crore in Darbhanga district.
