Mohamed Salah confirms he will LEAVE Liverpool at the end of the season in emotional farewell video

Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old football player, who was transferred from Roma to Anfield club in 2017, confirmed the news with an emotional video uploaded to his social media accounts on Tuesday night.
The Premier League champions also issued their own statement in response to Salah’s announcement, saying a deal had been reached with the striker to end his ‘exceptional’ nine-year career on Merseyside when the season ends.
“Hello everyone,” he said in an emotional video. ‘Unfortunately, that day has come. This is the first part of my farewell. I will leave Liverpool at the end of the season.
‘I wanted to start by saying that I never imagined that this club, this city, these people would be such a profound part of my life.
‘Liverpool is not just a football club. This is a passion, this is a history, a spirit that I cannot explain in words to anyone who is not part of this club.
‘We celebrated victory together, won the most important trophies and fought together through the most difficult period of our lives.’
Paying tribute to fans, he added: ‘I don’t have enough words. The support you have shown me through the best and hardest times of my career is something I will never forget. I will always take it with me.
‘Leaving is never easy. You gave me the best time of my life. I will always be one of you.
‘I will never walk alone because of all of you.’
In the statement made by Liverpool, the following statements were made: ‘Salah stated that, out of respect and gratitude to the fans, he wanted to make this announcement as soon as possible in order to provide transparency to the fans about his future.
‘While there is still much to play for this season, Salah remains resolutely focused on achieving the best possible result for Liverpool and so the time to fully celebrate his legacy and achievements will come when he bids farewell to Anfield later in the year.’
Salah became the third highest scorer in the club’s history, scoring 255 goals in 435 matches.
Salah and his teammates, who won the Golden Boot award four times and was named PFA Player of the Year last season, won two Premier League championships, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the FA Cup and two League Cups.
Although Salah signed a new two-year deal with the club last April amid a long-running dispute, suspicions have been circulating for some time that this season could be the Egyptian superstar’s last at the club.
In December, the 33-year-old gave a provocative interview in which he said he had ‘no relationship’ with head coach Arne Slot and hinted he could move on after competing in the AFCON with Egypt after being omitted from the manager’s starting XI.
“I couldn’t believe I was sitting on the bench for 90 minutes,” he said after being an unused substitute against Leeds. ‘This is the third time. I think this is the first time in my career.
‘(I’m) very disappointed, I’ve done so much for this club over the years, especially last season. Looks like the club threw me under the bus. That’s how I feel.
‘Someone wants me to take all the blame. The club promised me a lot in the summer. Now I’m on the bench and I can tell you that those promises were not kept.
‘I used to have a good relationship (with manager Slot). We have no relationship anymore and I don’t know why.
‘Looks like someone doesn’t want me in the club.
‘I called my mum and dad and told them to come to the Brighton game. It doesn’t matter whether I play or not. I will enjoy this. ‘I will be at Anfield before the Africa Cup of Nations and say goodbye to the fans because I don’t know what will happen when I get there.’
Instead, Salah repaired his relationship with his coach and will receive a hero’s farewell from the fans at the end of the season.
