UCC Bill In Winter Session of C’garh Assembly: Sai
-Raipur: Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday stated that the proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill will be tabled in the upcoming winter session of the state Assembly.
Mr. Sai said a committee headed by retired high court judge Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai has been constituted to prepare the draft UCC bill.
He said that the committee held its first meeting on Friday.
The Chief Minister said that the draft UCC bill prepared by the committee will be placed in the state cabinet for approval before being tabled for adoption in the state assembly.
“The proposed UCC Bill will be tabled in the state Assembly in the next winter session. The bill will also be passed in the next winter session of the Assembly,” he said.
Chhattisgarh will become the fifth state ruled by the BJP after the UCC Bill was passed in the state Assembly, after Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Assam and Madhya Pradesh.
Madhya Pradesh Assembly has passed the MP UCC Bill 2026 in the upcoming monsoon session of the state Assembly.
