UK plumbing firm collapses into liquidation after nearly 50 years | UK | News

A plumbing company in the United Kingdom went into liquidation after operating for nearly fifty years.

GW Monsons and Sons Limited, headquartered in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, began its liquidation process on 16 May.

The commercial boiler specialist will hold its final annual meeting at 10 a.m. on June 23.

The meeting will take place at the offices of Lecale Corporate Finance and Restructuring Limited, 50 Stranmillis Embankment, Belfast.

The firm was incorporated on 18 March 1977 and the liquidation period was expected to last approximately three months.

According to The Gazette, the annual meeting will either result in the approval of the liquidator’s final report and account of income and payments, or the liquidator’s release.

The exact number of staff affected by the closure is unknown.

A number of businesses are currently facing challenges; Another plumbing firm is also going into liquidation due to cash flow pressures.

Centurion Plumbing Services Ltd, based at Muir of Ord in the Scottish Highlands, reportedly ceased trading on March 31.

Centurion’s closure is believed to have cost at least ten workers their jobs.
