Texas approves proposal for constitutional amendment barring noncitizen voting

Texans overwhelmingly approved a proposed amendment to the Lone Star State’s constitution that would ban non-U.S. citizens from voting in the state.

Unofficial results show the proposal passed solidly with just under 72% of the vote.
