Welshpool: Man dies on street prompting murder investigation

A 22-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of another man who was found injured on the street.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the man died “despite the best efforts of paramedics” who were called to Church Street, Welshpool, Powys, in the early hours.

“Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones,” police said.

“There will be an additional police presence in the area over the coming days as the investigation continues.”

One more person is in custody while the investigation continues.

Church Street was closed while police investigated the area.

The force has yet to reveal further details.
