Rubio at ASEAN says good chance of Trump-Xi talks soon

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Friday, two major powers competed to force their agendas in Asia, he said that he had “positive and constructive” talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang.

The best US diplomat has been in Malaysia on the first trip to Asia since his assignment, trying to emphasize the US commitment to the region in the East Asian Summit and ASEAN Regional Forum, where many countries have floated from a series of upright tariffs announced by US President Donald Trump this week.

Rubio made his first opinions after China’s warning to the US against the rest of the United States against heavy taxes in its goods in the next month and threatening to retaliate against the countries that make agreements with China with China to cut off supply chains.

Wang, during talks with Asian colleagues in Malaysia, sharply criticized the United States and described the US tariffs as “typical unilateral bullying behavior”.

However, both sides described their bilateral meetings as positive and constructive on Friday.

Rubio said Trump is likely to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping.

“We are two big, powerful countries, and there will be problems we have not participated in.

Rubio stressed that it is not a negotiation of Wang, but to create a constructive basis to continue negotiations.

Rubio added that Trump was invited to visit China and said: “This is a visit he wants to assume, and therefore we’ll try to find the right date for that, but I’m sure I’m sure it will be because the president – both presidents – want it to happen.”

“We have to build the right atmosphere and build it … He said.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Wang should turn the agreement reached by the leaders of both countries into policies and actions.

“Both sides acknowledged that the meeting was positive, pragmatic and constructive.” He said.
