An aide to New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani reportedly lashed out at ABC executives after “The View” co-host Sara Haines called a Mamdani-backed socialist congressional candidate an anti-Semite.
Mamdani expanded her political influence last month after three candidates she supported in the New York congressional primary — Brad Lander, Claire Valdez and Darializa Avila Chevalier — won over the Democratic establishment.
The New York City mayor’s team pitched a liberal talk show for socialist candidates, but it was rejected. According to Semaphore.

During a June 24 episode of the show, co-hosts Alyssa Farah Griffin and Haines pushed back on the actions and comments of some of the candidates Mamdani supported. Haines said Chevalier was at an anti-Israel rally on Oct. 8, 2023, the day after Hamas’ major terrorist attack on Israel.
“I would literally call him an anti-Semite. Believe me, that’s what he calls himself with pride, too.” Haines said about Chevalier:.
Following the comments, an aide to the socialist mayor reportedly dismissed ABC executives and said Haines’ remarks could affect the mayor or candidates running for Congress from appearing on the show in the future, Semafor reported, quoting a person familiar with the matter.
The mayor did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment. ABC’s “The View” also did not respond to a request for comment.
