Woolwich shooting: Teenager charged with murder after boy, 14, shot dead | UK | News

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a 14-year-old boy was fatally shot in south-east London, the Metropolitan Police said.

Eghosa Ogbebor was shot dead on Lord Warwick Street in Woolwich and police were called to the scene at around 3.40pm on April 2. A teenage boy from Romford was arrested two days after the incident and was released on bail until he was re-arrested on 9 April. The 16-year-old boy was charged with murder Friday, police said. He will appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday. Police added that Eghosa’s family continues to be supported by specialist officers. Police investigation continues.

On April 4 officers arrested a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man in Woolwich on suspicion of murder and a 46-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Police said all three were released on bail.

A 14-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were arrested on April 3 in connection with Eghosa’s death.

These people were also released on bail while the investigation continues.

On April 10, another 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.
