Workers At Family-Run Mexican Restaurant Were Arrested After Serving A Meal To ICE Agents

News of the arrest of three restaurant workers in Willmar, Minnesota — just hours after Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers reportedly dined at their establishments — was widely condemned on social media: “immoral” And “demonic.”

Minnesota Stars TribuneFour ICE agents sat down to have lunch at the family-owned Mexican restaurant El Tapatio around 3 p.m. Wednesday, an eyewitness testified Thursday.

According to the witness, the staff looked “scared”.

After the business closed at 8:30 p.m., agents reportedly followed the departing workers and detained three of them while they were heckled by protesters.

The immigration status of the detained workers is unknown.

The reported incident comes amid increased federal immigration enforcement activity in Minnesota and rising tensions following the fatal shooting of Renee Good by an ICE agent.
