In addition to the second-degree murder conviction, Galvez-Quintero’s criminal record includes felonies for possession of a weapon, impounding a vehicle without a permit, battery and giving a false ID to a police officer.
Galvez-Quintero will not be deported immediately because he would face federal investigation for re-entering the country after being deported, according to CBP.
If convicted, he will serve his sentence in federal prison.
