Refugees on the move as invasion of Iran takes its toll

Refugees across the Middle East are once again heading nowhere to safety following Iran’s invasion.

According to UNHCR, Iran currently hosts 1.65 million refugees, mostly from Afghanistan. “Even before this conflict, refugees in Iran were affected by the country’s difficult economic situation,” a spokesman said yesterday. As a result, refugees are forced to return to where they came from and face new persecution.
