627 Cases Booked In Crackdown On Tinted Glass Violations

Hyderabad: Traffic police on Tuesday detected 627 cases in Malkajgiri and Trimulgherry traffic divisions for using tinted glass and black films in vehicles and collected a fine of Rs 4.38 lakh from drivers.
According to authorities, the drive continued into the evening. They said Motor Vehicles Act rules prohibit the use of color films without permission. Police said such violations compromise visibility and pose safety risks, especially at night and in emergency situations.
Officials stated that color films reduce transparency inside vehicles, making it difficult for law enforcement to monitor suspicious activity and ensure passenger safety. The driving was conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, including Rule 100 and other relevant sections addressing visibility standards.
227 cases were registered in Malkajgiri traffic division with fine of Rs 1.58 lakh. Among police stations, Gopalpuram traffic police reported the highest number of violations with 118, followed by Malkajgiri with 67 and Jawaharnagar with 42 cases.
Trimulgherry traffic department registered 400 cases and collected ₹2.8 lakh in fines; Begumpet traffic police came first with 169 cases, followed by Trimulgherry with 143 cases and Alwal with 88 cases.
While the traffic police warned that strict measures will continue against drivers who do not obey the rules, they also called on drivers to obey the rules. They also appealed to the public to avoid unauthorized modifications and contribute to making roads safer.
