MSNBC Staffers Told to ‘Practice’ Packing Up Amid News Channel’s Big Move: ‘Feels Like Punishment’

It’s moving day at MSNBC’s old offices, and chaos reigns behind the scenes.
Network insiders told Straight Shuter that staff had been ordered to “practice” clearing their desks ahead of the November push, dubbed the Big Drop.
“Surreal,” groaned one insider. “We’re actually doing trial runs with cardboard boxes, like a kindergarten orientation.”
The morale of the channeler’s escape from his iconic 30 Rock home to what has been described as a “drab, windowless bunker” has hit rock bottom.
“People are angry,” admits one producer. “This doesn’t feel like progress, it feels like punishment.”

While the rest of the staff was busy recording and tagging, the network star Rachel Maddow he doesn’t lift his finger
“His team will handle the move,” says a colleague. “Rachel on bubble wrap.”
Prepared for a backlash, managers even brought in counselors to help employees cope.
“If you need therapy to move buildings,” says one insider, “imagine the panic when ratings drop.”
Honchos insists the move is part of a nifty “modernization plan”. But for many inside 30 Rock, this feels more like the end of an era and the beginning of a collapse.
