Tropical Storm Helene survivor needs will continue to be met as federal resources shift

As local supports and resources in the Helene rescue transition between federal and state institutions, FEMA representatives will no longer be on the site at Buncombe District Helene Resource Center as of July 1. The survivors are encouraged to call the fema aid line in 1-800-621-3362 or through fema application for questions related to their benefits.
On April 22, 2025, Burnsville, Burnsville resident, moved to the Canta River on a steel beam on a steel beam, and after the tropical storm after Snake Bite Holler Lane, he collapsed during Helene.
The state partners who will stay on the site are trying to provide a smooth transition for the case management needs of the tropical storm Helene victims. The ongoing coordination with the State and Buncombe District Government will help to meet the surviving needs even if federal resources change.

Buncombe County is determined to support all affected inhabitants and will be shared as there is more updates. The community is encouraged to continue to visit the Helene Source Center for additional support at 94 Coxe Ave. in Asheville. HRC is open on Monday-cuma days between 08: 00-17: 00 and there is a free parking space in the front park.
