Meghan Markle has left her fans in a quandary after launching a new product with “unreadable” text. The Duchess of Sussex is offering consumers the chance to purchase leather bookmarks as well as Ever Honey at Godmother’s bookstore in California.
Among the images Meghan shared on Instagram is a photo of a leather bookmark clipped to an illustrated book. The bookmark reads “I fell asleep here,” but fans are having trouble reading the text due to the handwritten font. One social media user wrote: “I literally can’t read what the bookmark says!”
Another wrote: “I’m not kidding one bit. What does it say? I can’t read chicken scratches.”
One reviewer added: “I swear his writing is getting worse. I can barely read it. It should be packaged with a book, right?”
Another said: “What does honey have to do with bookmarks? The last thing I do when I read a book is use honey. I don’t want sticky pages.”
Another questioned why Meghan would sell bookmarks when she told Bloomberg’s Emily Chang she didn’t have time to read a book. One critic added: “Meghan admitted to Emily Chang that she doesn’t even read. How can she promote a bookstore?”
Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever has officially launched its first retail partnership with an independent bookstore in Los Angeles.
Located just minutes from Montecito, Godmothers Bookstore has become a hub of creativity since its opening in 2024. Founded by literary agent Jennifer Rudolph Walsh and entrepreneur Victoria Jackson, the venue aims to celebrate women’s voices.
Meghan Markle also recently surprised her fans by unveiling her As Ever products at Soho Home in West Hollywood.
The Duchess took to social media to announce a pop-up store in West Hollywood.
She said: “Talk about a full circle moment! At my old haunt in West Hollywood, with a brand that has been a part of my life, friends and family for so long… And also part of my love story with H (since our first date was at a SH restaurant).”
Prince Harry previously detailed how he met Meghan Markle at their private members’ club during one of the first dates with the former cable TV actress.
