Mobile phones in the UK will ping with an worrying message in this autumn, as an emergency warning is sent in the second test designed to cope with extreme events and disasters in the UK. The Emergency Warning System warns whether there is a danger to life nearby, including excessive weather conditions, and allows the government and national organs to quickly send vital information and advice to people in an emergency.
During the test, even if their mobile phones will be vibrating and quiet, they will make a high siren sound for about ten seconds. A message will also appear on the phone screens and will clarify that the warning is only one test. There are about 87 million mobile phones in the UK, which will be the second national test of the process since its first use in April 2023.
The exact date of this post -test has now been announced on Sunday, September 7. Phones will be released at 15.00.
Lancaster Duke of Lancaster Pat McFadden said: “Emergency warnings have life -saving potential, allowing us to quickly share the basic information in emergencies, including excessive storms.
