U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrived in St. Petersburg on Friday morning. He encountered a parent outside the daycare in St. Louis Park.
Sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to protect the preschool’s privacy, said two unmarked ICE vehicles were parked “directly across the street from our parking lot and playground” as parents dropped off their children around 9 a.m.
When a parent confronted them, the source claimed masked agents threatened him with pepper spray.
“They threatened to slap her, but St. Louis Park police arrived a short time later and they fled the immediate area,” a source said, noting that police quickly arrived on the scene and remained outside the daycare for about an hour.
