Lawrence Taylor hospitalized for stomach issue, attorney says non-life-threatening

New York Giants’ legendary linebacker Lawrence Taylor was hospitalized due to a stomach-related problem, but his lawyer said his life was not in danger.
Attorney Mark Eiglarsh said Monday that Taylor authorized him to state that he had been in the hospital for a week before a discharge date was set.
The 67-year-old Pro Football Hall of Famer is under medical observation for a stomach issue and is showing signs of recovery.

“Lawrence would like me to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who is thinking of him and praying for him during this difficult time,” Eiglarsh said in a statement. he said.
Taylor is considered by many to be the greatest defender of all time and arguably the best defender to ever grace the field.

The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year helped the Giants win two Super Bowls while reaching 10 consecutive Pro Bowls, making eight All-Pro appearances and being named MVP of the 1986 season.
Taylor remains the Giants’ all-time sack leader; This includes the 9.5 sacks he had in his rookie season before sacks became an official NFL statistic.
Taylor’s number 56 was retired by the Giants and he eventually made it to Canton, Ohio, where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999.

However, Taylor appeared to be dealing with off-field issues, including legal troubles following his playing days. He also had drug problems, which led to health problems later in his life.
In 2011, Taylor pleaded guilty in New York to misdemeanor charges of sexual battery and patronizing an underage prostitute. He was sentenced to six years probation and ordered to register as a sex offender. Taylor was also charged in Florida with failing to update his address on state records in 2021 and 2024.
In 2024, Taylor showed her support for President Donald Trump by attending a rally in Wildwood, NJ.
“I grew up a Democrat and always was a Democrat until I met this man here,” Taylor said. “No one in my family will ever vote Democrat again.”

Taylor made Giants headlines last year when he quickly turned down Abdul Carter’s request to wear Taylor’s No. 56 jersey, which had been retired by the organization since 1994, one season after he retired.
