The Independent’s Pride list of LGBTQ+ changemakers to return for June

IndependentThe iconic Hall of Fame, which recognizes LGBTQ+ change makers across the country, returns to celebrate Pride month.

In line with our commitment to supporting the LGBTQ+ community, this publication has released its 2026 Pride program, spanning editorial efforts, events, business collaborations and industry initiatives.

We’re proud to announce that we’ve partnered again with Pride in London and will be marching in the Pride Parade in July to celebrate and raise the visibility of the LGBTQ+ community.

IndependentThe 2026 Pride event will kick off with the return of the Pride Hall on May 31, ahead of Pride month starting on June 1.

First published as the Pink List in 2000, this list celebrates some of this country’s most influential LGBTQ+ people in culture, politics, business and activism.

Last year’s recipients included Britain’s first transgender judge, Dr. There were names like Victoria McCloud, trans activist Juno Dawson, and actor and singer Cynthia Erivo.

Our 2026 Pride List will be officially launched on 3 June at a special event at Queer Britain, the only LGBTQ+ museum in the UK, which will host honorees, industry leaders and community voices.

Independent is also producing a special video interview series featuring Pride Hall honorees, examining the personal stories, challenges and successes of those shaping LGBTQ+ advancement today.

Our partnership with Pride in London will include topics focusing on some of the key issues affecting LGBTQ+ communities.

In June, we are releasing a new documentary from our chief international correspondent, Bel Trew, about the impact of LGBTQ+ persecution and foreign aid cuts on those living with HIV in Nigeria.

Independent also announced a partnership with the7stars for AdLand Pride, which will support an initiative celebrating LGBTQ+ talent and advocacy in the advertising industry in the face of global DEI rollbacks and attacks on LGBTQ+ rights.

On October 1, we will sponsor the NDA Media Pride Luncheon hosted by Bluestripe Group as part of the New Digital Age’s Media Pride initiative, which brings together professionals and allies from across media and advertising.
