APSRTC Records Highest Single-day Revenue of Rs 28 Cr
Amaravati: APSRTC on Tuesday said it achieved its highest ever single-day revenue of Rs 28 billion on January 19. The record performance came amid the post-Sankranti return rush, at a time when private bus services were operating at regular fares and passenger traffic was increasing across the state, a press release said.
“Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation recorded an all-time high revenue of Rs 27.68 million on January 19, marking an unprecedented milestone in the history of the company. On the same day, more than 5.6 million passengers traveled on state-run buses,” the statement said. This milestone was attributed to the coordinated efforts of staff at all levels and the confidence shown by passengers.
Advance deployment of buses, adequate infrastructure, continuous monitoring and dynamic allocation of services based on passenger demand were cited as the key factors behind the record revenue.
APSRTC said operating private services at regular fares allows passengers to save on travel costs and encourages the use of public transport instead of private vehicles.
