Arsenal: Mikel Arteta’s Gunners face huge Premier League weekend

In the league, Arsenal will face relegation-threatened West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday, Burnley at home on 18 May and Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on 24 May, the last day of the season.
While the mood on the training ground was understandably high after this week’s semi-final win, Arteta said his team’s “energy and detail” were focused solely on taking three points against the 18th-placed Hammers, who remain safely one point and one place behind Tottenham.
He also acknowledged the reactions, good and bad, to the club’s post-match celebrations against Atletico.
Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney said the scenes at the Emirates Stadium were “a bit much”, while former Arsenal striker Ian Wright insisted the “entertainment police” should not prevent players and fans from enjoying the feat.
Manchester City, who beat the Gunners in the Carabao Cup final in March, will face Brentford at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, followed by Palace, Bournemouth and Aston Villa in the FA Cup final with Chelsea in the middle of these matches.
City claimed a 2-1 win against Arsenal as they battled back to an 11-match unbeaten run for a potential seventh league trophy under Pep Guardiola.
But a 3-3 draw with Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday meant they uncharacteristically stumbled in the title race.
City took a 1-0 lead with three goals conceded in 13 minutes of the second half. Jeremy Doku’s second strike of the match saved Guardiola’s side a much-needed point.
Guardiola, who will play three of the remaining four games at home, knows the atmosphere at the Etihad will be important.
“I love playing at home, what can I say?” said the Spaniard. “All we can do is win our games.”
