Australian murder suspect shopped while girl’s body lay in suitcase, climate change and El Nino trigger ‘frustrating’ start to ski season
Liberal Senate leader Michaelia Cash has repeatedly dismissed questions about the Coalition’s record low voter turnout and insisted Opposition Leader Angus Taylor’s leadership is secure.
“There’s a long way to go between now and the next election, and our focus is on delivering a credible plan to improve living standards for the Australian people,” Cash told Nine’s. Today this morning.
“I walk around shopping malls and people come up to me and say, ‘Please change the government. We can’t afford any more of the Labour-Greens dirty deal,'” Cash said, before answering a question about the uncertainty of Taylor’s leadership.
The questions come after bilateral polls this week showed the Coalition’s preselection vote falling to between 17 and 18 per cent, prompting calls from frontrunner Melissa McIntosh for a “rebranding” of the party. Cash denied this explanation.
“Australians don’t want us to rebrand; they want us to change the country, which is actually going backwards under Larissa Waters, the Australian Greens and Anthony Albanese,” he said.
