Authorities said 10 people died in a plane crash in the Bahamas on Friday.
First responders, including the Royal Bahamas Police Force, Airport Authority and emergency medical personnel, rushed into the dense bush where the plane crashed.
The Bahamas Musicians and Entertainers Union confirmed Saturday that 10 people were killed in the crash, including prominent members of the Da Pond Band and a local DJ whose artistry the union said “touched many lives and helped enrich the cultural fabric of the Bahamas.”
Bahamian Prime Minister Philip Brave Davis said that the only survivor was pulled from the wreckage.
“Ann and I are praying for the families who are facing excruciating pain right now,” Davis wrote in a statement to X. “We also pray for the survivor, whose recovery and care will remain in our thoughts.”

The identities of those who lost their lives in the accident have not been disclosed yet.
Although AAIA’s preliminary reports initially indicated there were seven people on board, authorities are still trying to establish the facts in the flight manifest.
