Coal Ministry notifies SECL’s CSR initiative for NEET aspirants

The “SECL Ke Sushrut” initiative was launched in 2023, the company said in a statement. The ministry has issued a Gazette Notification enabling Aadhaar authentication for beneficiaries of its flagship initiative, the company said in a statement.
The notification facilitates the delivery of transparent, efficient and targeted benefits to beneficiaries through voluntary Aadhaar authentication, while also providing government-approved alternative identity documents for those who prefer not to use Aadhaar.
The gazette notification officially acknowledges the scheme and marks a first for the coal PSU sector, underlining the coal producer’s growing role in social development in mining regions.
SECL said this move will strengthen the institutional framework for CSR activities and help increase the scale of projects in areas such as health, education and livelihood.
SECL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Harish Duhan said, “The SECL Ke Sushrut Gazette Declaration is a landmark recognition of a CSR initiative that transforms the aspirations of the youth of coalfield communities into opportunities. It strengthens our commitment to deliver effective, transparent and inclusive development in line with the vision of the Government of India.” he said.
The initiative had previously become the first and only CSR scheme among any Coal PSU listed on the Centre’s Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) portal, reaffirming its robust governance framework and alignment with the government’s vision of technology-enabled and transparent service delivery.
