Cockroach Janta Party founder claims Instagram hacked, X account blocked

Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke claimed that the party’s presence on social media was suppressed and many of its accounts were either hacked or closed.

“Crackdown on Cockroach Janta Party,” Dipke wrote in a post on Friday.

He then listed a number of alleged actions taken against the party’s accounts:

  • Instagram page was hacked
  • Personal Instagram account was hacked
  • Twitter account blocked
  • The backup account was also closed

“Please note that we do not have access to any of our platforms at this time. Any posts made hereafter should not be considered an official statement by the Cockroach Janta Party,” he added.

The party’s X account was closed in India on Thursday. But soon after, a new headline titled “Cockroaches Are Back” appeared on the Internet, with the tagline: “Cockroaches Don’t Die.”

The satirical political group emerged following a controversy involving Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, who reportedly used the words “parasites” and “cockroaches” while berating a lawyer seeking a top appointment.
The CJI later clarified that his remarks had been misquoted and said they were specifically aimed at people entering the legal profession using “fake and forged degrees”.
The Cockroach Janta Party account, created one day after the statements on May 15, quickly gained attention on social media. It received the support of a wide cross-section of politicians, activists, artists and internet users.
