Donald Trump and Andrew Mountbatten are among the names mentioned in a communications book published in February. Just because his name is mentioned in the files does not mean guilt or any crime.
US President Mr Trump and Jeffrey Epstein were said to have had a social friendship since the late 1980s, but Mr Trump quickly distanced himself from the disgraced financier and said he had “kicked him out” of his club because he was “creepy” with girls.
He is frequently mentioned as a former associate of Mr. Trump in unsealed documents, photographs and recent 2025 publications, including social media images and allegations of closeness to Mr. Epstein himself, but there is no allegation or evidence of Mr. Trump’s involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities.
The contact book, which has been on the Ministry of Justice’s website since February, has been under the spotlight once again.
The Duke’s ex-wife, formerly the Duchess of York and now known as Sarah Ferguson, is also included in the corrected list.
Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor maintained a close friendship with Jeffrey Epstein for years, including visits to his properties and flights on his private jet, even after Epstein’s conviction in 2008; Ms. Ferguson, for her part, accepted financial help from Epstein to pay off her debts and later corresponded with him despite his public denials.
The consequences were severe for Andrew, who stepped back from royal duties in 2019, filed a civil lawsuit with accuser Virginia Giuffre in 2022 without admitting liability, and was stripped of all royal titles and honors in 2025 amid renewed scrutiny over resurfaced emails showing continued communication with Epstein.
Sarah Ferguson faces her own consequences in 2025; She was stripped of her patronage by multiple charities after an email emerged in 2011 in which she called Epstein a “superior friend” and apologized for criticizing him, although her spokesman claimed it was sent under threat of legal action.
