GB News star Peter Whittle reveals tragic stage four cancer diagnosis | Politics | News

GB News star Peter Whittle has revealed he is battling cancer. The former UKIP Assembly member in London, who last appeared on TV in May, posted her heartbreaking health update on social media. That same month, he announced that he had been diagnosed with stage four esophageal cancer.
Mr Whittle said: “In recent weeks many thoughtful and kind people have asked about my health and whether everything is as it should be. I was thinking perhaps it was time to be open and honest with you about my condition. “Earlier this year, in May, I was diagnosed with stage four oesophageal cancer. As we all know, there is no stage five.
“My cancer is apparently a very rare and highly aggressive cancer. Since then I have been undergoing chemotherapy treatments but unfortunately they are not working.
“But there are other channels, and I am currently awaiting the possibility of being enrolled in a clinical trial. In the meantime, I am very lucky to be surrounded by wonderful and loving people.
“Oddly enough I’m otherwise fit and well. Everything else remains the same, except for a rather different hairstyle.”
Mr Whittle also said his diagnosis had forced him to think about his life and make some big changes, including bringing forward his wedding date to husband Kurt.
The think tank added that the New Culture Forum would continue “absolutely as before”. The organization is celebrating its 20th anniversary next year and Mr Whittle said he would “do my best to see you there”.
He served Paul Nuttall as deputy leader of UKIP from 2016 to 2017.
Mr Whittle resigned as a member of UKIP in December 2018 in protest at Gerard Batten’s leadership and subsequently served in the London Assembly as leader of the new Brexit Alliance and chair of the Assembly oversight panel.
