Get ready for SIR rollout by September 30: Election Commission tells State poll officers

The Indian Election Commission asked the state election officers to be ready for special intensive revisions until September 30, and an indication that the survey authority could initiate voter list cleaning at the beginning of October-November.
According to the authorities, at the beginning of this month at the New Delhi State Chief Election Officials (CEO) conference, EC Top Brass asked them to be ready for the presentation within the next 10 to 15 days. However, for the sake of further clarity, the deadline date of September 30 was determined.

The CEOs were told that the states that were published after the last sir were ready to keep their voters lists.
A few state CEOs have already put the voter lists published after the last sir on their websites.
Delhi CEO’s website has a voter list since 2008, when the last intensive revision in the capital.
In Uttarakhand, the last Sir has been realized in 2006, and since then, the election roll is now on the state CEO website.
The last Sir in the states will serve as a cutting date, just as the 2003 voter Bihar list is used by EC for an intense revision by EC.

EC said that after Bihar, Sir will be held all over the country. Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and the Assembly elections in the Western Bengal will be held in 2026.
The main purpose of the intensive revision is to remove foreign illegal immigrants by controlling birth places. Movement is gaining importance after pressure in various states for illegal foreign immigrants, including Bangladesh and Myanmar.
