Grammy-winning record producer and music executive dead at 94
Music mogul Clive Davis died at the age of 94, his family said in a statement.
According to US media, the Grammy-winning record producer and music manager, whose last job was as creative director at Sony Music Entertainment, was recently hospitalized in New York due to an upper respiratory tract infection.
“To the world, our father was an iconic musical legend whose vision, instincts, and relentless pursuit of perfection shaped the music of countless lives,” the Davis family statement said.
“He discovered, mentored and supported some of the greatest artists in modern music history, leaving an indelible mark on the culture for generations.
“To his family, Clive was father and grandfather, the steady presence at the center of our lives, the source of wisdom, strength, courage and unconditional love. No matter how extraordinary his professional achievements, he never lost sight of what mattered most: the people he loved.
“In every part of his extraordinary life, family remained Clive’s greatest pride and deepest joy. Today, we celebrate not only this towering figure whose influence changed music forever, but also the man who led our family with grace, generosity and kindness. We will miss him greatly, will always cherish him and carry his love with us for the rest of our lives.”
