ICE arrests murderers, child sex abusers in Twin Cities sweep

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced a series of arrests by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minnesota’s Twin Cities on Friday, including child sex offenders, murderers, drunk drivers and violent attackers.

Aldrin Guerrero-Munoz, one of the illegal immigrants, was sentenced to 32 years in prison on taxpayer money since 2004 for the intentional murder of his 3-month-old son.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Guerrero-Munoz was convicted of assaulting a fellow inmate at Stillwater Prison while incarcerated. ICE detained one person and took custody of him on Monday.

“Sanctuary politicians [Minneapolis] By refusing to work with ICE, Mayor Jacob Fray allows criminals like Aldrin Guerrero-Munoz to live unchecked in our communities,” Noem wrote in a statement. “Under the President’s leadership [Donald] ICE will no longer allow the veneer of moral superiority and political correctness to get in the way of the safety and security of Americans,” Trump said.

Noem said 70 percent of ICE arrests are of illegal immigrants convicted or charged with a crime in the U.S.

“This statistic does not even include foreign fugitives, illegal aliens convicted of crimes in other countries, gang members and suspected terrorists,” he added.

David Antonio González Rivas

David Antonio Gonzalez Rivas, a convicted illegal immigrant from El Salvador, was convicted of drug possession in two separate incidents and fleeing a peace officer by motor vehicle to avoid prosecution. (DHS)

David Antonio Gonzalez Rivas, of El Salvador, was convicted of drug possession and evading a peace officer in a motor vehicle to evade investigation, according to DHS.

Authorities said Rivas was arrested 14 more times for crimes including aggravated assault, receiving stolen property and obstructing police.

Pedro Cortez Soriano

Pedro Cortez Soriano, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, was convicted of vehicular homicide and drunk driving. (DHS)

According to DHS, Mexican Pedro Cortez Soriano was convicted of vehicular homicide, DUI, probation violation, unlawful reentry, and arrested for driving while intoxicated.

He had been deported twice before, with a final deportation order in 2004, authorities said.
