Major airline suddenly cancels flights at 4 UK airports – full list | UK | News

A major airline has abruptly canceled four UK routes for summer 2026 and warned its other services will face temporary cuts due to rising industry costs. SunExpress said the move comes as the aviation industry continues to grapple with a “highly volatile environment” and rising operating expenses.

Speaking to travel industry website Travel Gossip, a SunExpress spokesperson said: “Due to ongoing geopolitical developments, the aviation industry operates in a highly volatile environment characterized by significant cost increases, particularly for jet fuel. SunExpress is therefore taking steps to improve fuel efficiency and optimize flight operations. As part of this, we have temporarily suspended our services from Glasgow and Leeds Bradford and our route from Manchester to Bodrum, and have experienced brief frequency disruptions on other services. We are sorry. “It will eliminate any inconvenience and continue to offer UK passengers a wide range of flights and routes from UK airports to Türkiye.”

The routes that SunExpress has removed from sale for the 2026 summer season are as follows:

-Antalya – Leeds Bradford

The airline did not say when affected routes might return.

The spokesperson added: “At this stage we are not in a position to confirm when suspended services may be reinstated. We will provide further updates as soon as further information becomes available.”

Despite the disruptions, SunExpress will continue to fly to Antalya from Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, Luton, Manchester and Newcastle.

Flights to Dalaman will also continue from Birmingham, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Manchester and Newcastle.

The latest changes mean SunExpress will no longer fly between England and Bodrum after removing its Manchester route.
