Mallika Sherawat on Tuesday mourned the loss of veteran star Dharmendra, who passed away on November 24 at the age of 89. She recalled her experience of working with him in the 2004 black comedy Kis Kis Ki Kismat and said it was nothing short of a blessing. The Homicide actor shared a series of photos from the sets of the movie on Instagram.
In the caption, Mallika wrote, “I am heartbroken to hear about Dharmendra’s demise sir. Doing a film with him was a blessing that I will cherish forever. His kindness, wisdom and warmth left a lifelong impact on me. Rest in peace, legend.” Kis Kis Ki Kismat was directed by Govind Menon and featured Satish Shah, Tinnu Anand, Jagdeep, Viju Khote, Dinesh Hingoo and Shivaji Satam in lead roles.
The synopsis of the film is as follows: “Hasmukh Mehta is accused of having an affair with a young woman named Meena due to certain circumstances. While a hotelier who owes him money takes advantage of this situation, Mehta’s son falls in love with Meena.” Dharmendra plays Hasmukh and Mallika plays Meena. Rati Agnihotri and Siddharth Makkar played Dharmendra’s wife and son.
Kis Kis Ki Kismat was made on a budget of Rs 3.75 billion and bombed at the box office as it earned only Rs 2.47 billion, according to Box Office India portal. The film’s music was composed by Tamil music director Immanuel Vasanth Dinakaran, better known as D Imman in his Bollywood debut.
Meanwhile, Dharmendra was cremated at Pawan Hans Crematorium on Monday in the presence of his family members. In his last days, he was in and out of Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Considered one of the greatest, most handsome and most commercially successful film stars in the history of Indian cinema, Dharmendra had a film career spanning over six decades.
