Marcellus Wiley arrested for domestic battery after Fourth of July incident

Former NFL Pro Bowler and sports broadcaster Marcellus Wiley was arrested Saturday on charges of domestic battery.
Wiley was arrested by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, according to court records. He is currently being held without bail.
No additional details regarding Wiley’s arrest were provided.

Wiley had previously been sued by three women for allegedly raping them while he was at Columbia, where he played college football. He denied these allegations on the “More with Marcellus Wiley” podcast and claimed to have evidence to prove what he called “alleged misrepresentations.”
Wiley also called the allegations “BS” while at Columbia.
Wiley’s wife is Annemarie Wiley, who starred on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
The Rolling Stone article states that two of the women who claimed Wiley sexually assaulted them between 1995 and 1999.

Another woman claimed that Wiley groomed her because she was 13 years old when he played for the Buffalo Bills. She later claims that Wiley raped her in Dallas when she was 18. According to Rolling Stone, he claims to have been blown away by Wiley while playing for the Cowboys.
“Marcellus Wiley raped me on my 18th birthday after grooming me from the time I was 13,” the victim wrote, adding that he referred to her as “little mother.” “If Columbia had followed up on the complaints properly… I would never have been groomed and raped.”
Additionally, Wiley, who formerly worked as a production assistant for ESPN, and a woman who worked as a broadcaster for ESPN and FOX Sports, claimed that Wiley cheated on her about joining him in a hotel room for a work meeting in 2009. However, she claimed that he sexually assaulted her during this time.
“The attack was devastating to me, and I will live with its effects to this day,” the fourth woman wrote in the court filing, according to Rolling Stone.

Wiley was selected 52nd overall in the 1997 NFL Draft out of Columbia and joined the Bills, where he would play for his first four NFL seasons.
However, Wiley earned his first and only Pro Bowl nomination in 2001 with the San Diego Chargers, where he would play for three years. He also played for the Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars before his playing career ended after the 2006 season.
