Mukesh Ambani, Sunil Mittal named founding members of global AI panel

The Commission brings together more than 40 heads of state and government, industry CEOs, technology leaders and heads of international organizations to help shape practical pathways towards trustworthy, inclusive and responsible AI.
Paul Kagame will serve as co-chairman of the commission along with Marc Benioff. ITU general secretary Doreen Bogdan-Martin will be vice president. One of the commission’s key focuses will be to close the digital divide and ensure that AI becomes a tool aimed at addressing global challenges rather than deepening inequalities, with an estimated 2.2 billion people still offline and unable to fully benefit from AI-driven advances. The Commission will hold its inaugural meeting at the Global Summit on Artificial Intelligence for Good 2026, scheduled to be held in Geneva from 7 to 10 July.
