EC seeks report from Bihar DGP on murder of Jan Suraaj Party supporter in Mokama

The Election Commission on Friday, October 31, 2025, sought a report from the Bihar director general of police regarding the murder of a Jan Suraaj Party supporter in Mokama, which sparked a flare-up in the district, officials said.

Tension gripped Mokama following the murder of Jan Suraaj Party supporter Dularchand Yadav ahead of the assembly elections.

On Friday, stones were thrown at the car of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Veena Devi from Mokama.

The DGP has been asked to submit a detailed report to the poll authority as soon as possible.

The state will go to polls in two phases on November 6 and 11, and the votes will be counted on November 14.
