NatWest, Lloyds and Halifax set to close 24 UK banks | UK | News

A number of banks will close across the UK this week in the latest round of closures. NatWest, Lloyds Bank and Halifax branches will be closed completely, with a total of 24 branches planned to close before Sunday 7 June.
This comes as customers continue to turn to mobile banking services and the need for face-to-face services decreases. A total of 52 bank branches were closed last month; data shows millions of Brits now manage their money digitally. But physical closures have sparked concern among those who are less reliant on mobile technology or need access to cash, including elderly and vulnerable customers.
June will also be a busy month for banks to close, with dozens of branches leaving the high street entirely. Brits who rely on physical services are advised to visit their local Post Office, where some basic banking transactions can be carried out, or use the mobile branch service offered by some banks.
According to Lloyds, more than 21 million of its customers use the app as their main way of banking. NatWest, meanwhile, said its “network and services must reflect customer demand and ensure we are ready to offer the best possible support.”
Banks are also advising customers to check what services are available in case their local branch closes. You can also change your account to a bank with a branch near you.
