The new view will close dozens of stores by the end of the year and the latest closing Scotland On July 1, shoppers may like closing sales, but the movement is another hit on the high streets of the UK’s sick.
Another store in Wales will close next month and this year will bring the total to 12 and 26 of them go to Ireland. The fashion retailer has been aiming to cut the presence of the street for a while, but Rachel Reeves reportedly increased the number of planned closes after the autumn budget.
The first store to go was the New Look’s Wickford branch in South Essex, which closed on January 24 after 15 years. Although the closing comes at the request of the landlord, the new look does not have any public plan to replace the store.
A spokesman invited his customers to “continue to shop with us in our Basildon store” and added: “We would like to thank all our colleagues and local community for their support for years.”
The shops at the Carillon Court Shopping Center in Loughborough in Eastern Midlands, and the shops at Cyon Taf in Rhonda in South Wales were closed. St Austell, Cornwall and Team Valley Retail World Gateshead is also closed.
