If you’ve ever dreamed of shaving seconds off during your morning commute, then this £1.4 million Georgian townhouse could be your ticket.

The five-bedroom property is located just next to Kennington Underground Station in south London, and online sleuths discovered that clicking the Street View link redirects you to the Underground platform.

In reality, the four-story house’s proximity to the subway entrance appears to be less of a selling point than hoped.

The property was first listed for £1.55 million last month; but two weeks later £151,000 was cut from the price.

It quickly became fodder for an online forum where users enjoyed sharing their jaw-dropping property finds.

One commenter joked: ‘The house should have a direct lift to the platforms’, while another quipped: ‘At least they wouldn’t have to dust the shelves so often – all that vibration wouldn’t give the dust a chance to settle.’

A third added: ‘Surprisingly quiet – three out of every 7 minutes.’

Despite its location near the busy Northern Line, the estate agent described the 2,500sq ft property as ‘an outstanding four-bedroom family home’.

Agent Dexters Kennington exclaimed: ‘Spreading over five floors, this versatile home is in excellent condition and is ready for the next buyers to make it their own.

‘Beyond secure gates and right next to Kennington Underground Station, this surprisingly quiet location is perfect for those looking for quick connections to the West End and everything London has to offer.’

However, the trailer was ridiculed by house hunters online.

Someone on Reddit wrote: ‘The listing states ‘surprisingly quiet’. If someone believes they deserve to buy.’

Another added: ‘Might be the best estate agent double-talk I’ve ever seen’, while a third joked: ‘Do you get an Oyster card discount if you live this close?

‘The good thing is that if you miss your train you can probably hear the doors closing from your kitchen and still catch your train.’

A fourth said: ‘Street View really tells the story.

‘Being so close to the station seems like a huge disadvantage, not an advantage, and the cheap finishes inside don’t justify the price tag at all. ‘It feels like a tumble that missed the mark on quality and livability.’

The house, which has no forward chain, can be seen in street view footage, where commuters can be seen milling around the tube entrance.

One viewer said: ‘God, can you imagine all the people making noise all the time? ‘Not for me.’
