Glowing red orbs with ‘plasma centers’ seen hovering over US backyard… as FBI rushed to interview witnesses this year

A 2026 FBI report revealed an interview with a homeowner who experienced a striking sight one evening in the Northeastern United States around 9:15 pm local time.

As the man pulled into his driveway in July 2025, he noticed a bright red glowing orb, about three feet in diameter, floating silently below the tree line in his backyard.

Inside the red sphere was a bright white ‘plasma sun’ the size of a basketball.

His wife, who was watching the security camera from inside, also saw the orb, according to the FBI.

A second identical red orb soon appeared above the house. The couple watched as both orbs moved together, changing direction and flying west over the trees.

They merged into what appeared to be a single sphere before eventually disappearing. The witness and his wife recorded a brief video of the orbs as they receded, and it was included in the Pentagon’s latest dump of files on Friday.

A few weeks later the witness claimed to have seen several small white orbs flying higher from west to east.

A group of trained federal agents described encountering glowing orbs ‘egg’ of red lights, silent flying objects mimicking vehicles and intelligent light formations seen flying over a remote part of the western US over two nights in October 2023.

Special agents reported seeing bright orange orbs near hills or ridges. They hung motionless in the air, pulsating between bright orange and clear, and sometimes moving quickly across the sky.

Some spheres suddenly released three to four small red lights that flew in straight lines, in vertical or clustered formations, or downwards like flares.

Agents also saw rows or clusters of red lights hovering in perfect patterns like squares on airfields or ridgelines, sometimes in groups of nine or more.

Officers also described UFOs mimicking car headlights or taillights on the road ahead. On approach, the ‘vehicles’ would silently hover 15 to 20 feet above the ground without touching the ground or kicking up dust, then drifting over rough terrain.

While the reports submitted to the Pentagon did not disclose whether photographs or videos of the events were taken, the artists’ animations were added to the latest files.

A witness interview in Friday’s UFO files revealed a ‘potato’-shaped vehicle was encountered at one of America’s more highly secure underground military installations.

A 2024 FBI report documented sightings of a U.S. Army intelligence officer and four other members of his unit.

While leaving their office building in Colorado Springs in February 2022, they saw the strange UFO flying over the Cheyenne Mountains.

The object was described as creamy or whitish, somewhat translucent with a slight sheen, and made of irregular, non-overlapping panels like ‘jointed fish scales’.

The UFO remained completely motionless, but the panels on its surface were slowly shifting in waves. After about two minutes, the object suddenly disappeared, as if hidden in the air.

Cheyenne Mountain is a heavily guarded underground military complex in Colorado. It is famous for being the former home of NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command.

Built deep into the mountain during the Cold War, this facility was designed to withstand a nuclear attack and constantly monitor North American airspace for missiles, aircraft and space threats.

The report included an artist’s impression of the event.

A video released on Friday shows what authorities describe as a ‘plasma-like sphere’ suspended over a pond at an undisclosed location in the US, appearing to change shape and brightness as it moves.

The Trump administration has released a third tranche of previously classified UAP files, adding dozens of new documents, photos and videos to the government’s rapidly expanding archive of unexplained sightings.

The materials were quietly uploaded to the War Department’s website on Friday morning and cover a number of cases that investigators have been unable to definitively explain, leaving the nature of the incident unsolved.

A one-page memo in the third part of the UFO files released on Friday revealed a 1958 telephone conversation between the CIA and a scientist about a ‘space message’ that was allegedly destroyed after being received on Earth.

Scientist Dr. Leon Davidson was a chemical engineer and UFO researcher who worked on the Manhattan Project, the World War II mission to create the world’s first atomic bomb.

In the note, it was stated that the CIA told Davidson that the agency “could not solve the problem with the space message and transmitter because the relevant records were destroyed by the evaluation agency.”

The memo later acknowledged that two agents from the CIA had been in contact with Davidson before the scientist reached out to the agency about the mysterious transmission.

In the note, it was admitted that the agents named ‘Walker and Skakich’ tried to hide their identities from Davidson while talking about the message from space.

‘The resulting telephone conversation revealed that there was nothing in the records to indicate that Davidson’s contacts with Walker and Skakich knew he was doing business with the Agency, and that, in fact, efforts had been made to conceal their CIA identities from him.’

“But the answer was hardly fair to Davidson and unlikely to be fully accepted by him,” the memo continued.

It is not yet clear when and where Davidson received his message from space.
